According to Apple's official announcement, here's the release timeline:
- June 9, 2025: Developer beta version
- July 15, 2025: Public beta
- Third week of September 2025: Official release coinciding with iPhone 17 launch
Key Features of iOS 26
1. Liquid Glass
A new interface design featuring dynamic glass effects inspired by visionOS. This delivers smoother animations and motion-responsive interactions.
2. Apple Intelligence 2.0

Supported Devices
iOS 26 won't be available for:
- iPhone XR
- iPhone XS
- iPhone XS Max
Compatible devices include all iPhone 11 series and newer, plus 2nd/3rd gen iPhone SE. However, advanced AI features will work optimally only on iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max and iPhone 16 series.
Reason for Version Naming Change
Apple has shifted to calendar-based version numbering, with "26" referring to 2026 as the primary usage year for this OS.
