They founded a new company and launched a beta version of their game in 2004 under the name "Dynablocks." The name reflected the "dynamic building blocks" that were the main elements of the game.
3. The Birth of Roblox (2006)
In 2006, the name Dynablocks was changed to Roblox, a combination of the words "robots" and "blocks." In September 2006, the platform was officially launched to the public. Initially, Roblox was a small platform with a limited community. However, over time, developers began building their own games using the tools provided by Roblox, and the community grew rapidly.
4. Success and Growth
Roblox continued to evolve, adding new features such as a virtual currency (Robux), more advanced development tools (Roblox Studio), and the ability to buy and sell items. This business model allowed players not only to play but also to become creators, which ultimately drove exponential growth.
