Danau Kaco's Unique Appeal
Despite its small size (approximately 90 square meters), Danau Kaco is a major draw for domestic and international tourists due to its extraordinary characteristics:
Crystal Clear Water: The lake's name, Kaco (meaning 'glass' or 'mirror' in the local dialect), perfectly describes its water—it is so clear and pure that it reflects the surrounding jungle like a flawless mirror.
The Cyan Glow: The water boasts a striking cyan or turquoise hue, believed to be caused by certain mineral content or biological factors within the lake's sediment.
Nighttime Luminosity: One of the most famous and mystical features is the lake's ability to glow brightly at night, especially during a full moon. Local legends attribute this phenomenon to a hidden diamond (intan) stored at the lake's bottom by Raja Gagak (Crow King) from the local folklore. Scientifically, it may be due to the reflection of moonlight or the presence of bioluminescent plankton.
Danau Kaco remains a captivating and precious natural treasure, demanding both effort and respect from those who wish to witness its unparalleled beauty.
