Japan-U.S. Joint Naval Training Conducted in Waters South of Kanto

VISTORBELITUNG.COM,From December 8th to 11th, the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) conducted a bilateral training exercise with the United States Navy in the waters south of Kanto. The exercise involved the JMSDF destroyer JS Akizuki (DD-115), the U.S. Navy's nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN-73), and the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Dewey (DDG-105).


This joint training aimed to enhance tactical skills and strengthen interoperability between the two navies, further solidifying the Japan-U.S. Alliance's deterrence and response capabilities. Through coordinated operations, the forces engaged in various drills designed to improve mutual understanding and cooperation in maritime security operations.


The participation of the USS George Washington, currently forward-deployed to Yokosuka, Japan, underscores the unwavering commitment of the United States to the peace and stability of the Indo-Pacific region.
