Superjet's Airforce Pakistan Specifications Missile PL-15 Made in Tiongkok |
VISTORBELITUNG.COM,Islamabad, Pakistan – In a dramatic escalation of tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has confirmed the downing of six Indian fighter jets in a fierce aerial engagement near the disputed Kashmir region. According to military sources, the PAF successfully deployed advanced Chinese-made PL-15 beyond-visual-range air-to-air missiles (BVRAAMs) to neutralize the Indian aircraft.
PAF spokesperson, Air Commodore Tariq Mehmood, stated that the confrontation occurred after Indian Air Force (IAF) jets violated Pakistani airspace early this morning. The PAF swiftly scrambled its JF-17 Thunder and F-16 fighters to intercept the intruders.
"Six Indian aircraft, including Sukhoi Su-30MKIs and MiG-21 Bisons, were shot down after they attempted to target Pakistani positions," Mehmood announced. "Our pilots displayed exceptional skill, utilizing the PL-15 missiles with precision."
China’s PL-15: A Game-Changer in Aerial Warfare
The PL-15, developed by China’s Chengdu Aerospace Corporation, is one of the most advanced long-range air-to-air missiles in the world, with an estimated range exceeding 150 kilometers. Its active radar homing and electronic counter-countermeasure (ECCM) capabilities make it extremely difficult for enemy aircraft to evade.
Military analysts suggest that the PL-15’s superior performance outmatched India’s Russian and French-origin air defense systems, marking a significant shift in the regional power balance.
Indian defense officials have denied the claims, stating that only one MiG-21 was lost and its pilot safely ejected. However, the PAF released radar data and aerial footage showing multiple aircraft being struck mid-air.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister has called for an emergency UN Security Council meeting, warning against further aggression. Meanwhile, China has urged both sides to exercise restraint, though its advanced weaponry has now proven decisive in combat.
The incident has drawn international concern, with the US, Russia, and EU calling for de-escalation. Experts warn that such high-intensity clashes could spiral into a broader conflict between the two rivals, both of whom possess nuclear capabilities.
As tensions rise, the world watches closely to see if diplomacy can prevail or if South Asia is on the brink of a full-scale war.
