VISTORBELITUNG.COM,Damascus, Syria – The Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Mr. Aseed Hasan Al-Shaybani, received on Monday in the capital, Damascus, Major General Patrick Gauchat, the Head of Mission of the United Nations Truce Supervision Organization (UNTSO) in the Middle East.
The meeting emphasized the vital role of UNTSO in monitoring and documenting Israeli violations in southern Syria. Discussions focused on ways to enhance existing cooperation and coordination between Syria and the Mission. Both sides agreed that such collaboration contributes to supporting stability and maintaining calm in the region.
Minister Al-Shaybani underscored that this cooperation takes place within the framework of full respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic.
The meeting reflects ongoing diplomatic engagements regarding the situation in the Golan Heights, where UNTSO observers have long been deployed to supervise the ceasefire between Syria and Israel.
